Empowering Sikhs in Clinical Research

Diversity in Clinical Research

'Sikhs in Clinical Research' (SICR) provides awareness and guidance to the Sikh community to expand and start/grow their career in the Clinical Research field to increase workforce diversity. We continue to amplify and raise awareness on the clinical research workforce to help increase the impact as much as possible.

We are committed to fostering the development and retention of the Sikh community in the clinical research workforce. Continued support, awareness, and access to training programs are vital if the Sikh community has to thrive in the research industry. A significant push is needed to increase awareness of clinical research as a career option as early as at school and college to prepare the next generation of the diverse clinical research workforce. Providing students with engaging, valuable knowledge and educational material will cultivate and consider their interest in a career in clinical research.

SICR aims to engage the Sikh community in research careers and values professional mentorship. This is an incredible opportunity to learn from those who have been in the 'Research Field', to network, strategize, and plan your career. Not only is the research education relevant and cutting edge, but the network of professionals in the field is an invaluable asset in your career.

Sikhs in the US are a flourishing community that has always continued to grow and has excelled in healthcare professions, Clinical Research should be no exception. As of October 2021, a quick search on LinkedIn reveals that only about 1% (5,000) of the US Sikh population (500,000) is actively involved in Clinical Research as a Profession. New Life Clinical Research (NLCR) has launched “SIKHS IN CLINICAL RESEARCH" as a new initiative and effort to drive diversity in the clinical research workforce. SICR is designed to help create a more inclusive research ecosystem through research career awareness and networking programs. This will help build on engaging the under-represented population of the Sikh community in clinical research workforce.
